ExactMetrics Asset Files Blocked

Are you seeing this message from time to time?

ExactMetrics has detected that it’s files are being blocked. This is usually caused by a adblock browser plugin (particularly uBlock Origin), or a conflicting WordPress theme or plugin…

On rare occasions, this notice can appear due to a WordPress plugin or theme conflict. But usually, the most common reason is due to browser extensions such as:

  • adblock plugins (uOrigin, AdblockPlus)
  • privacy enhancements (Ghostery)
  • or other similar plugins

These plugins may sometimes cause conflict by blocking ExactMetrics’s admin files.

In this guide, we’ll show you how to fix this problem by whitelisting your domain within your browser extensions to allow ExactMetrics to work as expected on your website.

If you’re using multiple extensions, you may need to reload several times to achieve whitelisting.

Corporate, Governmental and Institutional Network content filtering, hosts files and JavaScript blocking

If you’re using a firewall or have something in place that blocks software in general, this may trigger the adblock notice as a result of blocking files and scripts required to display ads.
