To start tracking your sales data, you’ll need to enable eCommerce tracking in your Google Analytics account. In this guide, we’ll show you how to enable eCommerce tracking in Google Analytics in just a few clicks.
Prequisites: Before we begin, you’ll need to have the ExactMetrics eCommerce addon installed, which is available to Pro level users. Once you’ve purchased or upgraded to a Pro license, you will need to install the eCommerce addon.
You’ll also need to have enables one of the eCommerce plugins ExactMetrics is Compatible with. (See above.)
Step 1. Log into Google Analytics.
Step 2. Navigate to the website property you’re going to enable eCommerce tracking for:
Step 3. Click Admin in the side menu bar.
Step 4. Click eCommerce Settings under the column on the right:
Step 5. Under “Ecommerce set-up” click the slider to Enable Ecommerce. Then click the Next Step button:
Step 6. Remember to also turn the Enhanced Ecommerce Settings. For more information, see our guide on how to enable enhanced eCommerce in WordPress. There are huge benefits from a stats point-of view to do this, and really no reason not to since you’re using the best Google Analytics plugin for WordPress:
Step 7. Click “Submit“.
That’s it, you’re done!
