If you run an online business, here’s a scenario that probably plays out constantly: You add a new call-to-action button to your website. You’re confident it’ll drive conversions, but tracking its performance means diving into complex event setup, custom code, or toggling between multiple tools.
Or maybe you launch a major site update and want to mark it in your analytics. But creating annotations in Google Analytics means leaving WordPress, navigating to GA4, and manually adding notes there.
These small friction points add up, eating time you could spend actually growing your business.
That’s why we built two powerful features in ExactMetrics 8.10.0 that remove these barriers entirely. Plus, we’re highlighting a Snapchat Ads tracking feature from our previous release that deserves more attention.
Let’s explore what’s new!
Track Conversion Events Directly From Your Block Editor or Page Builder
Setting up conversion tracking on your site just became ridiculously simple.
With the new ExactMetrics Block-Based Conversion Tracking feature, you can enable conversion tracking directly from the WordPress block editor (or Elementor, or Divi) with just one toggle.
This opens up tracking for all the conversion points that actually matter to your business:
- eCommerce stores can track “Add to Cart” buttons, product image clicks, and checkout CTAs to see which elements drive the most purchases.
- Course creators can monitor enrollment button clicks, free trial signups, and lesson preview interactions to optimize their sales funnel.
- Service businesses can track consultation booking buttons and phone number clicks to measure lead generation.
- Content publishers can measure email newsletter signup buttons, content download links, and membership registration clicks.
- Agencies can track client portal access buttons, quote request forms, and service package selections across multiple client sites.
Here’s how it works:
Select any button or image block in your editor, then scroll to the ExactMetrics settings in the block sidebar. You’ll see a simple toggle to Mark as a conversion event:
Once enabled, you get additional options to customize your tracking. You can set a custom event name to easily identify this conversion in your reports, and mark it as a Key Event for priority tracking across all your analytics:
The best part? This feature also works with some of the most popular page builders, including Elementor and Divi.
Just add your image or button block, locate the Advanced settings, and enable it in the same way.
Think about how this changes your workflow. Instead of spending 20 minutes setting up event tracking every time you add a new CTA, you flip one switch and you’re done.
When you can set up tracking this quickly, you’ll actually track the micro-conversions that reveal how visitors really interact with your site.
Block-Based Conversion Tracking is available exclusively for ExactMetrics Pro users. To get started, update to version 8.10.0. Then, simply edit any button or image block on your site.
Manage Site Notes in WordPress and Sync Instantly to GA4
Understanding your analytics data requires context. When you see a traffic spike or drop, you need to know what changed on your site that day. Did you publish a viral blog post? Launch a redesign? Run a promotional campaign?
That’s where Site Notes become extremely valuable. They let you mark important website events and see them directly on your analytics timeline.
Site Notes work similarly to GA4’s Annotation feature, but you can create them directly in your WordPress dashboard. Until now, the two tools could only work independently.
But with our new Site Notes API Integration, you can manage everything from your WordPress dashboard, and it automatically syncs to GA4 too.
To see this in action, head to ExactMetrics » Site Notes in your WordPress admin. Click Add Site Note, and you’ll see a simple form to create your note:
Once you save your note in ExactMetrics, it appears instantly as an annotation in your Google Analytics 4 reports:
You can also delete Site Notes directly in your WordPress dashboard and see that change reflected instantly on GA4.
Now when you’re reviewing your GA4 data and spot that “New Blog Post” annotation on November 9th, you’ll immediately understand any traffic changes around that date.
You can create notes for:
- New content publications
- Site redesigns or major updates
- Marketing campaign launches
- Seasonal promotions
- Technical changes that might impact traffic
- Any other significant website events
Now, all your notes live in one organized place in WordPress, while still appearing exactly where you need them in Google Analytics.

Site Notes API Integration is available for all ExactMetrics users, including the free version. Update to 8.10.0 and start documenting your site’s story today.

Simply navigate to ExactMetrics » Settings » Conversions, scroll to the PPC Ads Pixel Tracking section, and add your Snapchat Pixel ID:
ExactMetrics will automatically track purchase events from your Snapchat campaigns, giving you complete visibility into your advertising ROI across all platforms.
